Strap ripped very quickly

Just feels cheap…..
I got this as a carry-on for vacation for my mom. Granted I was already a little perplexed about this size, but the sale was good. When the bag arrived it honestly just feels cheaply make and poorly designed. The hardware on the bag isn’t that nice, I believe it’s plastic, and the zip enclosure is strange. It doesn’t really close the bag. Like if you dropped the bag zipped up your stuff would still fall out.
The leather seems off too. I have other bags with the saffiano leather and they feel much heavier and less of a “recycled” feeling.
