For summer 2021, three memorable destinations have caught our eye: an artsy mountain retreat just three hours from New York City, a ruggedly beautiful island off the coast of Seattle and a surprisingly romantic ghost town in Colorado. Because health is still our top priority, all three of our picks offer plenty of outdoor activities and safe dining options.

Marked by crystal blue waters and glowing white shores, St. Barths is an idyllic paradise that tops every bucket list and draws a glamorous crowd of international jet-setters. Dip your toes into local Caribbean culture and cuisine with a twist of French flair or embrace elevated adventure at buzzy beach clubs and divine waterfront villas—this tropical oasis lets you choose your own path. Located in North Adams, Massachusetts, Tourists hotel is modeled on classic American motor lodges—with a few modern updates.
