SHOW YOUR PRIDE

To us, Pride Month is all about coming together to celebrate the vibrant LGBTQ+ community. That’s why this year, we partnered with one of our favorite magazines to showcase four of the most exciting queer creators paving the way for future generations—and having fun doing it!

THE TEAM

Based in our hometown of New York City, Paper Magazine always pushes the conversation forward in the fields of fashion, music and pop culture. We love how they amplify unique voices and capture the current moment. For this campaign, we teamed up to create our own take on the viral transformation videos popular on TikTok.

THE MISSION

The centerpiece of our Pride 2021 capsule is a special-edition gender-neutral t-shirt that benefits OutRight Action International, a leading global human rights organization dedicated to improving the lives of people who experience discrimination or abuse on the basis of their real or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

THE STARS

Each of these TikTok creators has amassed millions of followers for their authentic—and hilarious!—point of view.

WHERE IS HOME?

If we're talking logically, Seattle, Washington, but really my home is the Toys R Us Bratz doll section in 2006. I'm still a kid at heart!

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE COLOR OF THE RAINBOW?

I've always been a fan of purple, specifically light purple. It reminds me of my grandma's aesthetic because that’s her favorite color, as well as my mom’s.

WHAT DOES PRIDE MEAN TO YOU?

To me, pride is an area where you are loved and can be passionate within yourself. That area can be your heart, soul or an accepting, safe location with allies around (like Paper Magazine!) where you are celebrated for who you are.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?

I express my feelings through my fashion. I like to jump through different eras. For example, the trend of 2000's fashion right now is a score in my book. No matter what, I've always dressed like a Bratz doll through it all.

WHAT DO YOU WEAR THAT ALWAYS MAKES YOU FEEL YOUR BEST?

Skirts and dresses—they always make me feel free and magical.

Hudson, New Hampshire, but I live in Boynton Beach, FL.

Green, because it reminds me of Atlantic Ocean water.

WHAT DOES PRIDE MEAN TO YOU?

Being the happiest, most whole version of yourself.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?

Beachy, laid back, androgynous.

WHAT DO YOU WEAR THAT ALWAYS MAKES YOU FEEL YOUR BEST?

A bikini top with oversized pants or overalls.

WHERE IS HOME?

Orange County, California

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE COLOR OF THE RAINBOW, AND WHY?

Blue—'cause I’m sad like that.

WHAT DOES PRIDE MEAN TO YOU?

Pride means not caring about what others might say or judge, and saying f*ck the haters.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?

Pretty casual and comfortable, but dress to impress (just in case there’s cute people around).

WHAT DO YOU WEAR THAT ALWAYS MAKES YOU FEEL YOUR BEST?

I love wearing clothes that make me feel confident, especially pastel pink or blue.

WHERE IS HOME?

I was born in Durham, North Carolina, and moved to Jacksonville, Florida, when I was nine. Then, my parents decided to move to Tennessee and I finished high school there. Now I am living in Virginia!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE COLOR OF THE RAINBOW, AND WHY?

This is actually hard to choose because I love every single color on the flag. It represents who I am today.

WHAT DOES PRIDE MEAN TO YOU?

What pride means to me is owning who you are and not ever apologizing for being yourself.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?

My style is all over the place -it's eclectic! One day, I might like feel wearing something inspired by Nicki Minaj/Barbie and another day, I’ll want to wear something 90’s inspired.

WHAT DO YOU WEAR THAT ALWAYS MAKES YOU FEEL YOUR BEST?

Honestly wearing my Barbie chain makes me feel my best because I feel like a bad b*tch.
