Product Care Guidelines

In order to best care for your Michael Kors handbags, small leather goods and shoes, we recommend following the below guidelines depending on the fabric. We also recommend using our Rain & Stain Cleaner, Exotic Cleaner, and Leather Cleaner & Conditioner.

Leather
Your handbag is made of beautiful leather tanned in traditional methods in order to maintain its natural beauty and soft feel. The variations in color and texture are the prized characteristics of beautiful tanned leather. Over time, the leather will acquire a patina and may also darken due to the oils from your skin and direct sunlight, further enhancing the natural look of your handbag. Please keep your bag away from prolonged intense sunlight, heat, and humidity. Exposure to water, oil, makeup, and permanent dyes can unfortunately stain tanned leathers. In the event your handbag gets soiled other than with permanent dyes, try gently dabbing the leather with a clean, dry cloth and mild leather cream. Coated Materials
Your handbag is made of uniquely designed materials and trimmed with fine natural leather. The coated material is durable and water repellant. To care for your handbag, we recommend simply wiping both the material and leather trim with a soft, damp cloth to remove surface dirt. Please avoid permanent dyes, grease, and abrasive substances. The care with which you use and look after your bag will preserve its beauty.

Straw
Your handbag has been hand-woven from natural fibers and trimmed with fine natural leather. Each bag will be unique in size and shape. Please avoid prolonged contact with water, oil, permanent dyes, and makeup. To care for your handbag, we recommend simply wiping the leather trim with a soft, damp cloth to remove surface dirt. Denim without Leather Trim
Your handbag is made of premium washed denim fabric. To care for your handbag, we recommend machine washing cold in water, inside out on a gentle cycle and then tumble dry on low. Suede

The unique texture or nap requires that extra consideration be given when worn during inclement weather. Please keep your bag away from prolonged sunlight, heat, and humidity. Metallic Embossed Leather
Your handbag is made of genuine embossed Italian leather and is finished with a luxurious foiled effect to achieve a metallic shine. Metallic Saffiano

Matte Python Leather

To preserve the quality of this leather, avoid exposure to intense light, heat and humidity.  Contact with water, oil, makeup, and permanent dyes can unfortunately stain natural leathers.  In the event your handbag gets wet or soiled, try gently dabbing the leather with a clean dry towel.  Allow damp spots to dry naturally.  The care with which you use and look after your bag will preserve its beauty.

Leather
To care for your footwear, we recommend simply wiping the leather with a soft damp cloth to remove surface dirt. For regular cleaning, a damp cloth and mild leather cream can be used.

Suede
To care for your footwear, we recommend brushing your footwear with a soft suede brush seasonally to remove any dirt that has accumulated and to renew nap.
